Alarming announcements about medical and health conditions such as heart attacks or strokes are coming to light all over worldwide television these days. Television and radio commercials tell us what to do if we feel dizziness, passing out, numbness, and so on. However, seldom will you hear an advertisement explaining common anxiety symptoms, which is pretty useless considering so many people get them and are very confused by them.
Experiencing anxiety symptoms is very common in our western culture, since we are presented with high pressure situations on a persistent basis. Whether it’s the panic that we might be off-course in an remote location or we’re going to be late for a doctor’s appointment or if the office phone rings unexpectedly, we all feel panic at some point in our life. Many people on the other hand may have anxiety symptoms for apparently no cause at all, and could confuse the symptoms with the symptoms of experiencing a cardiac arrest or some alternate medical condition. People who suffer from panic attacks regularly confuse these symptoms.
Anxiety symptoms are obviously different for everyone, and often it’s clear that we’re simply experiencing anxiety – right before speaking in public, when you’re about to marry, when you open your front door and see a couple of thugs standing there; these circumstances could easily make any of us anxious and panic ridden! But for most of us, anxiety symptoms can also include breathing problems, heart constrictions, vommiting, chest pains, constricted breathing, tingling or numbness in the fingers, face, or toes. Stomach aches, and headaches are not unheard of either. You can see how these could easily be confused with a heart attack or asthma or any number of other conditions.
If you get these anxiety symptoms on a frequent basis, and especially if they happen to occur for no reason, you should probably consult with your doctor. Initially, you will want to exclude the potential of it being a heart attack or something that severe. Secondly, he or she can prescribe pills or therapy that could help you live with the anxiety symptoms while at the same time working with you to discover why you are stressed and anxious to begin with. You may have some chemical abnormalities in the brain or could need to learn some new positive techniques on how to mentally process stressful situations so as to be able to reduce the start of an anxiety attack before it gets really bad.
I managed to beat my panic disorder after a lot of trial and error and dragging my family through the devastation with me. The treatment I used was totally natural, medication-free and didn’t require lengthy counseling – I’m happy to say that I’ve been free of anxiety for a number of years now, I only wish I had found it years earlier.
